Portfolio with this ID doesn't exist.

On June 25 in Gliwice enthusiasts of new technologies will be able to familiarise oneself with new hardware and innovative projects for the third time, this time with technology associated with virtual reality. Third edition of the exterior „Media Tent”, organised by the Śląska Sieć Metropolitalna and the City of Gliwice, will be held this year in Gliwice’s Old Wire Factory (Stara Fabryka Drutu), which for several hours will become the „Factory of the Future”.

The program includes first public demonstration of the application Chernobyl VR Project – an innovative virtual reality project which allows you to virtually visit the forbidden Chernobyl and Pripyat regions. The creators of the project, and also the Strategic Partner of the event – The Farm 51 Group, will be talking about the development of the project.

Shows, meetings and workshops for children and adults—this is the program of this year’s event in short. The motto of the third edition of “Media Tent” is “Factory of the Future”, and it was not chosen by chance. During this event we want to see whether it is possible to revitalize and re-launch abandoned industrial spaces and experience the way of how new technologies can make distant places appear to be at one’s fingertips, we will be talking about how virtual reality changes our reality and creates the future. In “Media Tents” you will be able to see and try out extraordinary devices which will take you to virtual reality, and also take part in meetings with developers of software and hardware, which allows you to experience the virtual reality world.

For the youngest fans of new technologies we have prepared workshops during which they will be able to build their own mobile machine, desing a fractal and test themselves as camera operators. All attendees are invited to participate in a collective construction of the Kaiserpanorama, which, thanks to special carboard googles for virtual reality, will take us into three-dimensional world. During stereoscopic photograhpy workshops there will be an option to create 3D images on one’s own.
Those who are interested in virtual reality, new technologies in social projects and also interesting research initiatives and would like to talk directly with the creators and experts are invited for the last meeting of the TechKlub Gliwice in the 2015/2016 season.
The unique agenda of the programme will be the showcase of an unusual application Chernobyl VR Project, prepared by the Strategic Partner, The Farm 51 Group. Chernobyl VR Project is a unique venture, which combines the world of computer games with the world of educational applications. This is the first ever virtual tour of Chernobyl and Pripyat designed for VR devices. The Farm 51 has visited the disaster site several times to prepare the project and collect visual material, and the results of their work will be made available to admire on June 25 at Stara Fabryka Drutu.
